QUICK SETUP FOR NEW USERS

Before starting your iCat training, complete this quick setup so your system, printers, and training environment are ready.

This setup prepares your team to complete the Contents Inventory Worksheet and follow the full iCat Contents Process during onboarding.


1. Company Setup (Admin Panel)

  1. Go to Admin → System Setup → Contents Inventory

  2. Select the Enable QR Barcodes checkbox (optional—regular barcodes work as well)

  1. Go to Admin → Users

  2. Add your technicians and office staff

  3. Assign appropriate permissions


2. Set Up Printers

A. Office Printer (Pack-Out Labels)

Used for:

  • Pack-Out Barcode Labels

  • Emergency Barcode Labels

  • Avery 8160 sheets

Requirements:

  • Laser printer recommended (best scan quality)

  • Inkjet acceptable on high-quality mode

  • Install Google Chrome

  • Install the Adobe Reader Extension for Chrome

Confirm the printer is:

  • Installed & connected

  • Able to print PDFs cleanly from Chrome


B. Warehouse Printer (Pack-Back Labels – Brother QL Series)

Used for:

  • Pack-back labels

  • Item labels during cleaning & packaging

Supported models:

  • Brother QL-810WC

  • Brother QL Wi-Fi Series with automatic cutting

Setup basics:

  1. Connect the printer to a computer

  2. Join the printer to your local Wi-Fi network

  3. Load the DK-2205 continuous label roll

  4. Set the correct label size in the printer settings

  5. Disconnect from the computer

  6. Plug it into a wall outlet in a good Wi-Fi area

Your warehouse team will use this printer during the Pack-Back portion of training.


3. Prepare Barcode Labels

  1. Open a test job in the cloud

  2. Select Generate Barcodes

  3. Print using Avery 8160 labels

  4. Delete the PDF after printing to prevent duplicates


4. Prepare Device Settings (All Technicians)

On each iPhone:

  • Install the iCat Solutions Inc. Contractor App from the App Store

  • Allow all permissions (Camera, Photos, Notifications)

  • Ensure Wi-Fi or cellular data is available


5. Create Basic Training Warehouse Locations (Required for Worksheet Video)

These are temporary training locations, used only for onboarding.

  • Warehouse Receiving

  • Production

  • Delivery Staging

  • Vault 1

  • Vault 2

These simple locations allow the training videos and the Worksheet to function correctly.
Your real warehouse structure will be configured after onboarding.


6. Create Basic Digital Tags for Pack-Out Review Training

These temporary tags will be used only during onboarding to help you practice identifying common pack-out review issues.

  • Pack Out Review

Add These Training Tags

  • Should Be a Box

  • Should Be an Item

  • Should Be Cleaning Box

  • Should Be Regular Box

  • Split/Divide

Your real tag structure will be configured after onboarding.


7. You’re Ready — Start the Worksheet

Once your setup is complete:

This worksheet:

  • Shows how to inventory contents correctly

  • Provides a link to the training images

  • Generates the sample data used in the full Contents Process

  • Prepares you for your onboarding webinar
