Hardware Requirements (Important)

To run iCat properly, please ensure the following hardware is in place:

1. Pack-Out Label Printing (Barcodes for Packing)

  • Use a laser printer

  • Use Avery 8160 label sheets

These are required for generating pack-out barcodes during job intake.

2. Pack-Back Label Printing (Cleaned Contents)

You’ll need a Brother QL-810W Wi-Fi Label Printer (recommended), or any Brother QL Series WiFi printer

Use DK-2205 label rolls with these printers.

  • Connect to computer to perform Wi-Fi setup

  • Install DK-2205 label rolls

  • Disconnect from the computer and plug it into a wall outlet located near your restoration and packaging area

3. Mobile Scanning

No external scanners are required.

You will use the built-in scanner inside the iCat App to track and move contents.

4. Mobile Devices

An iOS device is required for field and warehouse operations.

  • Recommended: latest, lowest-cost iPhone from the Apple Store

  • Supported: Any iPhone running iOS 13 or higher (refurbished devices are fine)

  • iPad is also supported (not preferred)

  • Data or Cellular is a bonus. The devices can work off-line and through wifi.

Download the app by searching:

“iCat Inventory – Contractor Edition” on the iTunes App Store.

5. AirPrint Printer (optional)

Used to print vault location reports that recap exactly which contents were placed into the vault or pallet, their current statuses, and a clear summary of what was stored at that location.

6. Install Adobe Reader / Google Chrome

Google Chrome is the default recommended web browser for iCat.

Please ensure you make Adobe Reader your default PDF Viewer in iCat. This is required to print pack-out barcodes.
