Why Pack-Out Barcodes Matter
Using barcodes throughout your workflow gives your team:
Immediate tagging of boxes and large items on-site
Fast scanning and tracking through cleaning and vault storage
Quick retrieval of rush or priority items
Accurate visibility through production and pack-back
Teams using barcodes see major gains in speed, accuracy, and operational control.
Note: Barcodes are required only if you want to track contents inside your restoration facility. For any operation that wants scanning, production visibility, and accurate pack-backs, barcoding is strongly recommended.
Before You Print: What You Need
1. Printer & Label Media
Any laser printer
Avery 8160 label sheets (recommended)
2. QR Code Option (If Preferred)
If your company prefers QR codes:
Go to Company Settings → Barcode Format and switch to QR labels.
3. Required Software
Adobe Reader
Internet-connected computer
❗ Critical Warning: Never Print a Barcode Sheet Twice
Each barcode (or QR code) is unique and must be printed only once.
Reprinting the same sheet creates duplicates that cause:
Incorrect scans
Items jumping locations
Mixed or corrupted inventory
Pack-back errors
Inaccurate reporting
Best practice:
After printing the barcode PDF, delete it immediately from the iCat Reports Viewer so it cannot be reprinted.
