Overview

After your non-salvage inventory has been reviewed during the Pack-Out Review step, you can send the homeowner a secure review link.

The homeowner can then easily add:

  • Original purchase price

  • Purchase location

  • Years owned

  • Condition

Homeowners usually only complete the details for the items that matter most to them—typically higher-value or personally important items.

This work is normally completed later by an adjuster, but when the homeowner provides it up front, your final non-salvage package becomes dramatically more accurate and more complete.

You should do this step for two main reasons:

1. A Major Value-Add for Adjusters

Sending a non-salvage list with homeowner participation already completed:

  • Saves adjusters hours of manual follow-up

  • Makes their job easier and creates a very positive experience

Adjusters appreciate receiving a complete file without needing to collect these details themselves.

2. More Accurate LKQ Valuation

Homeowner-supplied data directly improves the quality of:

  • Fast AI LKQ (free)

  • Fast LKQ (paid service)

Both valuation tools use purchase details, ownership years, and condition to generate more precise and defendable replacement costs.

Before You Send the Link (Important)

If you’re offering this as an enhanced service, it's a good idea to coordinate with the adjuster:

“Would you like us to send the homeowner a link so they can enter their purchase and ownership details into the non-salvage list?”

The only consideration is timing:
There may be a short delay while the insured finishes their part.

Most adjusters prefer receiving the complete file — but clear communication avoids surprises.

After the Homeowner Completes Their Participation

Once the homeowner completes their online entry of purchase and ownership information, your office will receive an email notification confirming that the homeowner has finished this step.

At that point, you can:

  • Send the completed schedule of loss to the adjuster, or

  • Initiate the LKQ valuation process inside iCat using either Fast AI LKQ or Fast LKQ.

This ensures the valuation process uses the most complete and accurate data possible.

Summary

Sending the homeowner non-salvage valuation review link:

  • Reduces adjuster workload

  • Improves LKQ valuation accuracy

  • Enhances customer experience

  • Adds meaningful value to your service

This small step has a major impact on claim accuracy and professional relationships.
