This tutorial walks through every search parameter and explains how each filter helps you locate the right items fast — without mistakes.
Start in the Production View
Go to Production ➝ Contents Production.
The Production View is designed for physical warehouse work — scanning, moving, cleaning, tagging, and preparing items for delivery.
1. Search by Job (Most Important Filter)
Searching by Job unlocks features you cannot use otherwise:
Send for Delivery action
Select All Items With Location
Select All Items Without Location
This also prevents accidental mass actions across the entire system.
Once you choose a job and click Search, all other filters narrow to show only items related to that job.
2. Item Category
Filter by content type (furniture, electronics, soft goods, general contents, etc.).
Useful when processing one category or department at a time.
3. Location
Search for items stored in a specific:
Row
Vault
Rack
Pallet
Warehouse location
Combine Job + Location for the fastest way to track items physically.
4. Box Type
Isolate specific container types, such as:
Ultrasonic Light Cleaning
Medium Cleaning Box
High Density
Dish Pack
Pair Box Type + Status to answer questions like:
“Show me all ultrasonic boxes that have not been cleaned yet.”
5. Status Filters
Search by status to match workflow needs:
No Status — not yet cleaned
Restored — ready for delivery
Awaiting Subcontractor Authorization
Awaiting Quote
Delivered
As you use iCat, these statuses become second nature.
6. Field Service Filters
If using Field Services:
Search by Field Service number
Only items assigned to that service appear
Ideal for large claims divided by floor, wing, or zone.
7. Item Status
Common workflows:
Find all uncleaned items → Status = No Status
Find all cleaned items for delivery → Job + Status = Restored
8. Tags (Custom Tags)
Tags allow fast grouping and searching:
“Donate”
“Hazard Review”
“Needs Authorization”
“High Value”
When a job has tags, they appear on the right. Selecting a tag auto-fills the filter so you instantly see only tagged items.
9. Barcode & Reference Number Search (Add-to-List Search)
This section builds a custom search list:
Enter a barcode or reference number
Click the search icon
The item is added to your existing results rather than replacing them
Perfect for:
Supervisor- or adjuster-provided lists
Tagging a batch of items
Moving a group of unrelated items
Printing a targeted pick list
Rush & Delivered Filters
Rush → Shows only items flagged as urgent within your current search filters
Show Delivered Items → Appears only when searching by Job; used when items must be returned to inventory (e.g., delivery error, homeowner not home)
Best Practice: Always Scan When Possible
While manual searching works, using a wired or wireless barcode scanner is strongly recommended:
Eliminates typing mistakes
Speeds up workflow
Ensures accurate tracking of item movement
