How to inventory a large, non-boxed item that will be removed from the home and stored without cleaning or restoration.

When to Use This Mode

Use this workflow when a large single item must be stored and returned exactly as-is, with no cleaning or restorationperformed.

This creates a proper Storage-Only (Return-As-Is) entry in iCat.
Because Storage-Only tags are not reprinted, technicians must manually write the room name on the moving tag or beside the barcode before the item leaves the home. This ensures the pack-back team can easily return it to the correct room.

Ideal for:

  • Furniture being stored only

  • Large appliances

  • Items not damaged or not needing cleaning

  • Belongings that must be removed for repairs and later returned

Steps

  1. Open the job → go to Inventory → tap +.

  2. Tap Room and select the appropriate room.

  3. Tap Item Barcode and scan the barcode you placed on the item.

  4. Tap Status → change it to Return-As-Is (Storage-Only).

  5. Tap Content Images to take photos.

    • First photo: a clear overview of the entire item.

    • Additional photos: any angles needed to document condition before storage.

  6. Tap Done when finished.

  7. Tap Save to complete the Storage-Only entry.
